Humanoids

Humanoids

In 1996, I was in Vaasa, in the Brändö district, at Pub All Stars and talked to a man about the Estonia disaster. I asked him what could have caused the accident, and he replied that the cause was exactly what was officially stated.

Then I asked the man when accidents like this will actually cease. He replied that it will happen when they are replaced by extremely wise people who have a microchip in their brains.

I said to him that such a thing could never be possible. He assured me nevertheless: "Yes, it will become possible. You will live to see it, but by then you will already be in a nursing home.

Now, 30 years have passed since that conversation. Elon Musk has developed the Neuralink brain chip, artificial intelligence has taken massive leaps forward, electric vehicle batteries and smartphones are part of everyday life, Musk has developed space rockets, and even Katy Perry has been to space.

30 years ago, we still had cathode-ray tube TVs and the first mobile phones. Everything has developed at a tremendous speed. The man I met worked at Wärtsilä.

I have been wondering whether humans might have developed these brain chips, artificial intelligence, electric vehicle batteries, powerful LED lights, smartphones, and space rockets together with humanoids.

The man I met worked at Wärtsilä, which is a high-tech company. Perhaps they are developing things there that won't be completed for another 30–50 years.

It has occurred to me that this man might have been developing brain chips together with humanoids—or he knew that others were doing so. He knows that it takes 30 years for the technology to develop far enough for the first brain chips to be put into use.

He also knows that alongside artificial intelligence, EV batteries, LED lights, and space rockets, electromagnetic propulsion might also be under development, but it will take another 30–50 years before it is ready.

Even though the man worked at a regular technology company, they might be developing projects there that take decades to complete. Could the humanoids have said that we need to accelerate our development and are therefore collaborating with humans?

That was why the man in 1996 already knew so firmly that I would still live to see the brain chips when I'm in a nursing home—he knew it would take precisely around 30 years to finalize the first chips.

I would also like to mention Katy Perry: even though she is a singer, they wanted her among the first space tourists. The humanoids and developers wanted to show humanity that if a famous and widely publicized public figure can go into space, even a young child could manage it.
